We've been having some fun putting together an exciting new lighting canopy design for one of our most visited venues, the wonderful Ufton Court in Berkshire.

This one is not for the faint of heart!

Say hello to our brand new digital festoon lights. The festoons run in parallel lines along the length of the barn, sweeping from one beam to another. We can optionally add paper lanterns to some of the bulbs, and the lanterns can be any colour from our wide range which you can see and play with various lantern colour combinations here.

During the daytime the festoon bulbs are a soft, warm white, which is perfect for lighting up the barn for the reception, wedding breakfast and speeches. Having the lights spread so wide overhead gives a fantastic soft, flattering light throughout the whole barn that really transforms the look of the venue. They're extremely bright so have no problem lighting up every corner of the barn, but if you prefer they're also dimmable right down to a gentle glow so it's easy to dial in just the right atmosphere.

However it's in the evening that this canopy's secret is revealed. What makes these lights so special is that every bulb is addressable by the controller. This means every bulb can be told what colour to be at any given moment and updated in real time, which allows for an ever-changing series of moving colours, patterns and effects. The patterns scroll along the barn, in and out, side to side and if paper lanterns are added then the controller makes use of them for even more effect combinations. The controller is installed behind the bar so that it's available for you to use as you wish at any point during the day or night.

Apart from initially switching into one of the disco modes when the time is right, all of the effects are automated by the controller - all you have to do is press a button on the touch screen at the appropriate moment and the venue is transformed once again into your own private nightclub for the evening. There are several different disco modes to choose from, each with increasing intensity so that you can start out (relatively!) subtle and get progressively more energetic as the night goes on.

It's certainly not for the faint of heart, but if you want a big impact effect for an evening spent on the dance floor, this canopy is perfect!

And if not, the disco effects are purely optional :)
