Disco lighting can be elegant too!
This is one of our favourite setups for the small barn at the Monks' Barn in Hurley.
Fairy lights are a fantastic choice for events all year round but they are arguably a Christmas essential. The dark evenings and colder weather push events indoors and even from mid-afternoon, a serious sprinkle of sparkle is needed to create warmth and atmosphere.
There are lots of other interesting ways to use lighting for a sparkling festive wedding or party, have a look at our inspiration for two popular festive styles below.
Is it a chandelier? Is it a mirror ball? No, it’s a ChandelirrorBall!
The brief was to supply an impressive centrepiece to hang above the bar for a “super sparkly” party in a marquee. Our mirrorball chandelier was the obvious choice.
Here’s something a bit different. We recently provided the lighting for Oxford University’s annual Michaelmas Ball in the Oxford Union Debating Chamber. This year’s theme was “A Night on the Titanic”.
We’ve discovered an amazing unexpected feature of our white chandeliers. They glow in ultraviolet light!
The marquee at Uplands House in High Wycombe is a fantastic blank canvas with plenty of scope for adding your own personal touches. We recently installed this lovely canopy of over a hundred paper lanterns, pom poms and honeycomb balls in mixed pinks and ivory. Also in the disco side of the marquee were clusters of coloured and colour-changing paper lanterns to add a splash of colour in the evening.
We firmly believe that the lighting for your evening entertainment deserves just the same care and attention to detail as the rest of your day. A few carefully chosen, coordinated effects can make the difference between a good party and a night to remember forever.
This beautiful photo was taken at a recent wedding where we supplied the DJ along with synchronised, colour-changing uplighting, a mirror ball suspended from the wooden beam above the dance floor, and a set of moving heads sweeping patterns and colours around the room.
My Lords, Ladies and Gentlemen… a stunning marquee wedding where we provided lights, effects and disco.
Marquees are great for this kind of job because there’s flexibility to attach equipment to the ceiling and spread the effects.
The mirror balls and overhead installed lighting made the most of the effects, complementing the high spec disco set up which included wizard, moving heads and par cans.
Using a haze machine helps highlight the beams of light and creates a fantastic atmosphere.
Top quality sound, extension speakers and a DIY disco set up once the DJ went home made for a great party and a full dancefloor.
Thought you might like to see a couple of photo's of the barn from my 21st on Saturday night. We had lovely comments about the lighting and lanterns, everyone said it looked amazing!
